Campbellsville—Joe Walters has been named senior campaign officer in the Campbellsville University’s office of development effective July 1.
Walters had served since 2004 as a commercial loan operator and lender with Community Trust Bank in Campbellsville. He previously worked at CU as director of special projects and purchasing from 1996-1999.

Walters primary duties will be to secure additional annual, major and planned gifts for the university, according to Benji Kelly, the school’s vice president for development.
“We are excited about Joe joining our development staff,” Kelly added. “We look forward to him helping us reach our fundraising goals in the future.”
Walters currently is serving a term as an associate member of Campbellsville’s board of trustees. He had served two consecutive four-year terms as a trustee from 2000-2007.
“We are very pleased to have Mr. Walters join our Office of Development staff,” said Campbellsville University Presiden Michael Carter. “His service as a member of the CU board of trustees certainly gives him a unique and intricate perspective of the institution’s mission and forward progress.
“Mr. Walters is acquainted with many friends and supporters of Campbellsville University so he is well prepared to help us in his new capacity.”
